NYCACC's official Working Cats program: places feral/under-socialized shelter cats (not adoption-suited) as working cats for barns, businesses, gardens, buildings. Placed in bonded pairs; caretaker provides food/water/shelter + can trap for vet care (ACC loans traps). The municipal route for working cats. Verified 2026-08-26. Intake: Apply to adopt working cats at Intake: ACC identifies suitable ferals + can loan traps Other channel: Pairs of bonded cats placed together (an 'only cat' becomes a 'lonely cat')
