Queens WALK-IN shelter at 80-36 Cooper Ave, Glendale 11385, (718) 326-6070 (Mon-Fri 11-5, Sat 11-4:30, Sun 11-4). Adoption requires application + home visit + approval; will take an animal back if an adoption fails. Also runs community programs for low-income/elderly/disabled owners.
