BARC Shelter (Brooklyn Animal Resource Coalition)

501(c)(3) no-kill, privately funded, in Williamsburg since 1987 - one of Brooklyn's oldest WALK-IN shelters (253 Wythe Ave 11211), receives no government subsidy. Dogs + cats. Adoption hours Tue-Sat 12-4pm (closed Mon); runs a pet-supply store whose profits fund the shelter. Adopters must be 21+, complete the application, bring 2 valid IDs (photo + proof of address) + 2 non-family references + vet reference, and bring any resident dog/kids to meet.
